Equal Adventure Developments (EAD) Ltd is recognised by many to be a specialist and leader in the inclusive design and assistive technology. The new product at the centre of this project, Boma 9 represents a significant innovative step change in all terrain mobility seating and control with disabled users. One of the key emphasis is to make the products modular, thereby reducing the cost burden on the users. The current project is to design and develop Boma 9 which would be the cornerstone for the next generation of inclusive products to come out of EAD Ltd. This product would also help users to enjoy a higher degree of freedom by giving them the capability of completing the first and last mile of their journey with least efforts required.
The modularity of the product is aimed to enable users to share components from Boma 9 with other products, for instance a seating support for a canoe, or an assisted movement harness. This way EAD will work with the users to help them achieve more with less. The funding received through this project will help EAD with the resources required to design the prototype and work towards the Boma 9 based on the user feedback EAD has been collecting since 2016\. This will also help EAD accelerate iterative development of the product range for EAD Ltd towards our mission of changing the nature of the outdoor industry, from exclusive to inclusive of disabled people. EAD Ltd also works with its sister Charity EAC to run inclusive outdoor programs and expectations with disabled people, this collaboration allows EAD Ltd to continually gain user insights, knowledge of customer and constant user feedback to ensure that EAD Ltd is able to run an efficient inclusive people centred design process in all its development projects.
