Horshader Community Development Trust wishes to address fuel poverty and carbon reduction in the community by the retro fitting of Trombe walls to suitable houses. Trombe walls use a glazed solid wall to capture solar energy and release this as heat into buildings. This technology has the potential to reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions and provided a means of improving hard to treat housing stock in a cost effective way. An initial investigation will be carried out by Greenspace Live to model the effectiveness of this technology in the challenging environments found in the Horshader area. The result of this investigation will form an important part of the decision making process concerning the development of this concept.
