The Global Street Paper Support (GASP) initiative is a ground-breaking project aimed at empowering street papers across the globe through an innovative financial and support framework. GASP introduces a revolutionary revolving loan fund complemented by a flexible, revenue-based repayment model, tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges of street papers. This project is led by a team of experts from the Challenges Group and INSP who bring a wealth of experience in street papers, social enterprise, funding mechanisms, and strategic development.
GASP is structured around key work packages, including Gap Analysis and Market Trend Identification, to pinpoint innovation pathways; Funding Mechanism Design, focusing on sustainable financial models; Technical Assistance Program Development, offering support for digital content creation and business model adaptation; Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management, ensuring legal integrity; and Community Engagement and Partnerships, to incorporate feedback from street paper members into the GASP framework. This comprehensive approach aims to significantly enhance the operational efficiency, sustainability, and social impact of street papers, solidifying their role in providing employment and a voice for the homeless. Central to GASP's strategy is deepening relationships with funders to secure long-term support, ensuring the initiative's lasting success and scalability.
