Wave energy is the transport and capture of energy from ocean surface waves. The energy captured can be used for all different kinds of useful work, including electricity generation, water desalination, and the pumping of water. Wave energy is said to have the greatest potential of all renewable resources but currently costs in the region of 10 times wind generation, with much poorer reliability. In response, Anchored Engineering is developing a revolutionary Wave Energy Convertor (WEC) which outperforms the European Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) target for 2035 of £150/MWh for Wave Energy. The system primarily achieves this figure by focusing on absolute reliability of a smaller scale array with onshore electric generation (0.5 MW Electric for 3-4 WEC devices), rather than a large, technically challenging single point type system, which are historically prone to failure. The system comprises a Point Absorber Buoy tethered to a proprietary designed piston pump and valve arrangement. The pump drives filtered seawater ashore in a closed-loop system, providing constant supply to a hydroelectric arrangment. The project focuses on further feasibility and industrial research to prove the concept and raise TRL level ready for full-scale testing.

Feasibility Studies
Anchored Engineering will produce a unique Physical Education resource suitable for all children of schooling age, which can be delivered via existing digital teaching platforms, by class teachers. The application will promote social inclusion and benefit the mental wellbeing of children who are confined during the lockdown period experienced due to COVID-19\. Physical Education is a mandated part of the school curriculum and should not suffer just because schooling has moved to a different medium.
