OGI Bio develops a device designed to automate microbial culturing.
Company is focused on innovation in microbioreactor market. Focusing 1st on affordable microbioreactors and continuing to innovate in the sector, by for example developing in situ bioreactor imaging capabilities. Company is expected to start employing people on 1st October 2020.
The company received 250K from Innovate UK and won the Edge competition in 2020.
The company has been awarded an initial £250k Innovate UK grant for one year to ready its market position. Since then, it secured an additional £1.5M investor funding, grew to 10 employees, and is selling its affordable and retrofittable micro bioreactors (expected to reach cash-positive status within the next 4-6 months).
The company is currently in beta testing phase of its first product.
