Flexergy Ltd specialises in developing technologies and products for the ultra-efficient compression, storage and distribution of green hydrogen. The company works with hydrogen project developers to deliver and commission the most suitable compressors, storage tanks, and transport options for their project parameters. This project seeks to develop the design concept for the company's first and core product, an ultra-efficient hydrogen compressor. It works in a different way to current compressors on the market by reducing losses caused by turbulence and waste heat to compress more hydrogen for less electricity. This reduces project costs making more high pressure hydrogen available at a cheaper price. The project will create a new permanent role for a Mechanical Engineer in the company and will help refine the compressor product through to advanced design concept stage. The project will prepare the company for a project specific FEED study and customer pilot implementation. There will be technical and commercial work packages and it is expected that a patent application will be generated as part of the project.
