News Pneumowave Limited awarded £455.5K by Innovate UK

Based in Scotland, Pneumowave Limited is 5 years old, has been awarded £455,510.00 from Innovate UK for their project Advances in precision medicine for paediatric sleep disorders - Paediatric Advanced Respiratory Service (PARS) study under the ISCF - HLA funding sector. The project will run between 01 September 2023 and 31 August 2025 and the funding covers 70% of the total costs.

The Project covers:

1. Developing a novel respiratory monitoring platform tailored specifically for children.
2. Combines wireless wearable biosensors, mobile ‘App’-based software and Artificial Intelligence for non-invasive monitoring.
3. Easy-to-use, low-cost device to capture and analyse longitudinal respiratory physiological data.
4. Testing the device with patients undergoing routine sleep studies and demonstrate clinical proof of concept.
5. Improving diagnostic accuracy in sleep disordered breathing

Whilst not covered in the project, the future potential for adverse event detection and alerting is being considered, too.
