Company description

EarthSense aims to be a global leader in accurate air quality monitoring, modelling and data for decision-making. Our mantra is Measure. Model. Act. We deliver products that enable the world to visualise and manage its air quality issues. With our air quality sensors, modelling and data product mix, we create critical components in smart systems, inform major investments, assess historic exposure and future risk and make a real difference to people's lives.

EarthSense is a joint venture between the University of Leicester and Bluesky International Ltd designed to meet the needs of the growing air quality monitoring market. We aim to deliver products that enable the world to visualise and solve its air quality issues. We enable policy makers, planners and those responsible for delivering results access to data in a way that enables them to create scenarios which can lead to truly deliverable solutions on the ground.

Real-Time Monitoring Networks and Transport Emissions for Tailored Zero Pollution Action Plans in European Cities

1 Jan 2024 to 31 Dec 2027

Awarded
£355,448
Total cost £355,448

The transport sector is a major contributor to environmental degradation, including air and noise pollution that have negative effects to ecosystems and human health. This is particularly critical in urban areas, where the confluence of transport emissions and high population density result in adverse health impacts and substantial economic burden. The up...

Autonomous and Connected vehicles for CleaneR Air (ACCRA)

1 Jul 2017 to 30 Jun 2018

Awarded
£91,000
Total cost £129,999

UK Government AQ strategy states that there are over 50,000 premature deaths yearly due to AQ pollution. Emissions from transport are a key contributor to poor AQ. Vehicles which have an internal combustion engine and an electric only range can offer zero emission (ZE) operation but cities lack the ability to monitor and control the vehicles. Project ACCR...

TRIUMPH (Temperature-controlled Range-extenders & Integrated Urban Mapping of Pollution) Hotspots

1 Apr 2017 to 30 Jun 2019

Awarded
£83,679
Total cost £119,542

TRIUMPH is a demonstration and study of zero emission capable trucks and refrigeration units in urban environments. Refrigerated urban delivery is a key component of the modern food distribution network and temperature controlled transport is highly polluting in urban environments. Zero emission technologies provide a solution to urban air quality and can...
