Enhanc3d Genomics develops technology that profiles 3D genome folding with the aim of linking genomic variants to their target genes.
I am a co-founder of Enhanc3D Genomics (E3DG), a spin-out company based on Babraham Institute IP on Promoter Capture Hi-C technology. The aim of Enhanc3D Genomics is to leverage high-resolution 3D genome folding data generated through Promoter Capture Hi-C to link disease-associated regions in the non-coding human genome to their causal target genes. A second aim is to use patient-specific 3D genome folding for patient group stratification in personalised medicine. In February 2020, Enhanc3D Genomics was accepted as one of five companies forming the first cohort of the Cambridge-based accelerator StartCodon (https://startcodon.co), receiving seed funding of £250K. In March 2021, we secured a further £1.5m of seed funding.
Enhanc3D Genomics closed a seed funding round of £1.75m in March 2021, followed by a £10m series A funding round in August 2022. E3DG currently (March 2023) employ 17 full time staff members.
Since 2020, Enhanc3D Genomics have raised £1.75m in seed funding (March 2021), followed by a successful £10m series A funding round in 2022. The company currently employs 17 full time staff comprising both experimental and computational teams that work together closely to achieve the company's vision of realizing the potential of 3D genomics as a key diagnostic and therapeutic tool in healthcare.
Enhanc3D Genomics currently (March 2022) employs eight full time members of staff. Having closed a seed funding round of £1.75m in March 2021, our aim is to secure series A funding to further grow the company and develop our capabilities.
