News Aegiq Secures Innovate UK Funding for Quantum Photonics

Spun out from Sheffield University in late 2019, Aegiq is embarking on further quantum photonics research backed by Innovate UK funding. On top of nearly £4m of private funding, this is an incredibly exciting area of quantum possibilities.

Powered by nearly 20 years of research, the team hope to develop a field-ready quantum light solution to better support onward solutions (quantum communications, imaging, sensing). There’s a huge barrier to entry in the commercial sector here and the project aims to deliver a high performant solution that’s more affordable.
